At their annual meeting in late October, representatives of European Mennonite churches issued a statement regarding the refugee situation. In an accompanying letter to Swiss Mennonite churches, written after the attacks on Paris, the board of the Swiss Mennonite Conference writes:
“…in the outcry of horror and the calls for security, where some want to define who are the enemies and draw clear lines, we urgently must seek to give a face to the command of loving the enemy.”
